Deadline Fast Approaching for Submissions to International UFO Congress Film Festival

The International UFO Congress, a leading organization for the research and documentation of UFO and related information, is currently accepting submissions to their 18th Annual Film Festival at the newly renovated Aquarius Resort and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada from February 22nd through February 28th.

Filmmakers compete in twelve categories, including Best Historical UFO Documentary, Best UFO Footage Within a Documentary, Best Abductee/Contactee Documentary, Best Animated UFO Program, and the People’s Choice Award, in which the winner is decided by popular vote among the conference attendees. All other categories are judged by a panel of twelve, led by Paul Davids, producer of Roswell and Sci Fi Boys. Any UFO film released during 2008 is eligible, so send your entries in!

Entry Guidelines dictate all new UFO or Related Films released during 2008, either on video, or having a public screening, are eligible to enter. Films released prior to 2008, or to be released in 2009, may be submitted to the festival for public screening (at no charge), but will not be eligible for judging or awards. Such films will be shown only if time allows. Titles not yet released, but screened at this year’s festival, may be entered next year for awards judging if they are released during the year 2009.

The EBE Awards Banquet, a UFO version of the Oscars, will be held on Saturday February 28, 2009 where winners of each category will be presented with EBE Statue.

In order to allow sufficient time to edit the clips of your film for the awards ceremony, to plan the screening schedule, and be able to list the films in the conference program, please send us your entry form, fees and films before the deadline. All forms and information can be found on the web site UfoCongress.com

Film Festival entry materials must be received by January 31, 2009 in order to be considered for the EBE Awards. Any materials received later may not be accepted.

International UFO Congress Now World’s Largest UFO Convention

Laughlin, NV (PRWEB) January 15, 2008

The International UFO Congress, a leading organization for the research and documentation of UFO and related information, today announced the extension of their 17th Annual UFO Conference and Film Festival to eight days and nine nights, making it the largest UFO convention in the world. The annual convention featuring 40 speakers and 35 exhibitors from around the globe will be held at the new Aquarius Resort and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada from February 23 through March 1, 2008.

The new marquee event of the UFO convention will be a live interview segment called “Conversations with Rob Simone.” Simone, an acclaimed radio talk show host and ufologist, will be talking with noted Area 51 microbiologist Dr. Dan Burisch in front of an audience in a late-night talk show setting. The event will be the first of its kind in this new format that encourages audience participation; something the UFO Congress plans to make a mainstay of the convention for years to come.

Another new event at this year’s convention will be a keynote presentation and banquet with renowned UFO researchers Philip Mantle and Spyros Melaris of the UK. The experts will be discussing the authenticity of the infamous Alien Autopsy Film as well as other current worldwide UFO phenomena.

“We’re very excited about all the new events and the opportunities they create for people of all interests to come together,” said Conference Organizer Nicole Irvine. “Along with the various conference packages, we’re expecting record attendance numbers and, as always, to have fun educating people about the latest UFO research from around the world.”

In addition to the six-day, seven-night “Traditional Package,” the UFO Congress is offering a two-day, two-night “Weekend Package” and an eight-day, nine-night “Full Package,” giving visitors several options to accommodate their needs. Individual passes and a la carte ticketing is also available for people seeking to attend specific events only.

Convention mainstays such as the Speaker Cocktail Party and the EBE Awards Banquet will also be a part of the extended conference, with two extra nights of viewing being added to the Film Festival. The Jerry Pippen Radio Show will be broadcasting live from the UFO Conference, covering each day’s events and presentations along with a daily wrap-up.

The 41st International UFO Symposium will be held in Denver at the Marriott Denver Tech Center from July 22 – 25. The symposium is an annual gathering of some of the top speakers in their respective fields presenting evidence and research concerning the history and ongoing research in the UFO phenomenon. Presentation topics will include: a history of alien craft crash retrievals, the crop circle phenomenon, the ongoing nature of UFO abductions and shocking new UFO case files.

The upcoming four day symposium will feature a dozen speakers including: Linda Moulton Howe – The December 1980 RAF Bentwaters incident, Budd Hopkins – Ongoing UFO Abduction Cases, Richard Dolan – Life After Disclosure and Nick Redfern – the Crop Circle Phenomenon.

The first day of the symposium, Thursday, July 22nd, will provide workshops on UFO field investigator training.
