I saw a UFO once in High School. A couple of friends and I were hanging out in a subdivision underconstruction one night. A red light flew over our heads about 250′ off the ground, silent. A few minutes later 2 helicopters flew by going in the same direction. That was pretty cool.Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!

None of the theory’s are good….because none of the theory’s are accurate… and about the helicopter chasing the red light?…..yeah…I saw that movie too…called Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Its likely that all the theories are a bit correct. Some UFOs will be weather phenomena, others aircraft, others stars or planets or other astronomical things. Some will be hoaxes, some hallucinations, and some will be top secret military projects.
However, I am sure that some are genuinely inexplicable to current science. But this doesn’t necessarily mean they are spacecraft from other planets, just that we need to do some proper research to find out whats going on.
The vast majority of UFO reports are Venus + Scintillation + Autokenisis + Untrained Observer.
I believe there are unexplained phenomenoms that go on in this world and I believe there are a lot of people that like attention and make things up.
The most likely theory is that UFOs are exactly what they are called: unidentified flying objects, the key word being “unidentified”. Almost all of these objects are reported by people who are not very familiar with the various sky phenomena. They see something in the sky they don’t understand and immediately think it must be a spaceship. It’s interesting to note that astronomers, the people who spend all their time observing the skies, never see UFOs.
We’ll never know. Whatever they are, they don’t want to be discovered.
