Posted in UFO Report on April 26th, 2010 by RoswellUFOs.comLast year, UFO sightings were twice as many as 2007. What are we leading up to? How many of you can feel that something is coming? A change from the known.

I think that this means recreational drug use is way up.

Record nuttiness.

The quality of the Gene pool is diminishing.
This forum, Astronomy and Space, has shown that in this the space age, how totally ignorant of space is the general populace.
And these are the people who report UFOs. These are the people who dream up abductions.
It is pitiful really.

I read somewhere that the Earth is warming so maybe that’s attracting more alien tourists.

People are bored and tired of wars. Look at the results of the last election – Change is wanted. Look at the 2012 nonsense that seems to be everywhere – Change is wanted. Our lives are boring and we want excitement – so we invent some of our own – UFO stories are one way of doing that.

Either there are more conspiracy followers out there who are trying to convince everyone that we are about to be invaded…or…..a more realistic approach would be…..maybe there are more newer technologically oriented test vehicles out there going through their paces.
Either way…..none of those increased sightings are in anyway extra terrestrial related.
Maybe there are just more people out there who are more aware of their surroundings who are starting to notice things that they don’t understand.
April 26th, 2010 at 10:04 pm
Yes, quite. 2012 is the year they will peak, as a flotilla of alien ships will arrive to watch the human race finally become extinct from natural disasters. My shorts will be soaked with rum and Coke when the big one hits.

I think with the advent of modern communications technology, more people are hearing about other people seeing UFO’s and more people are reporting them.
In the past, if you said you saw a UFO, you were considered crazy or worse, doing drugs. Today, it’s more accepted….saying you saw a UFO, that is.

Naw, this is pretty small potatoes compared to the hysteria of the 50′s. Look at all the movies that were made in that era that dwelt on flying saucers, monsters and the perils of atomic energy. Never mind the cold war.
The video camera and youtube have done more to get UFO’s back into the publics mind.

Attitude alters perception, and there’s been a huge increase in belief in things like ghosts and UFOs in recent years. Probably due to sensationalist poppycock disguised as actual science like Ghosthunters and such. The more people believe in stuff, the more they are likely to fit their perceptions into what they believe.
Fascinating fodder for sociology or psychology, but not a good question for this category. If you actually think that this “increase in sightings” is based on empirical events, I assure you this delusion is not shared by astronomers or scientists of any kind. UFOs are folklore at best, they aren’t “real.”
April 27th, 2010 at 12:24 am
The Earth’s population is also reaching a record high.
April 27th, 2010 at 12:51 am
Because shows like UFO Hunters on newly sensationalistic networks reinforce the perceived glamor of the slipshod and irrational thinking that leads to interpreting unidentified sightings as alien visitors.
April 27th, 2010 at 1:39 am
UFO sightings routinely increase and decrease over the years.A period of numerous sightings is known in the UFO community as a Flap.
April 27th, 2010 at 2:32 am
I would like to see a reference but all it proves is that people are reporting more if true. Anything can be read into that including more people do not understand what they see. Such as stars and chinese lanterns etc. Speaking of lanterns is there a comparison of lantern sale and use with increased sightings?
Edit. Just a thought, as the mobile is so prevalent how come there are no images of the increased sightings that prove ET? At least of the quality you see on non ET subject matter on places such as youtube?
April 27th, 2010 at 3:19 am
I can’t say I have seen any evidence to prove your case, and would be grateful if you would give us references. Tedward makes an extremely good point. Considering the quality of modern video cameras and still cameras, how come the only clear films and pictures of alien craft are produced by the entertainments industry? One would think that everyone could produce very clear evidence if it was there, but all the claimed pictures and videos are blurred and shaky and of very poor quality. Deliberately?

I don’t discount anything. People that do not believe in life in other worlds are like the people in the dark ages that believed that everything revolved around the earth and we were the center of all things. Who knows what the future will bring or when.

Yes, Aliens are here, and have been since at least the 1940s. This shouldn’t be news to anybody, but Americans today aren’t all that bright.
Oh, your average “intelligent” American can recite whatever they are taught, they can hold an opinion on whatever political issue-of-the-week the TV pundits serve up, they can choose between a corporate-sponsored Republican candidate and a corporate-sponsored Democratic candidate and think they are voting for “change”, but this generation has lost the ability to actually think.
Take “top contributer” GEOFF G., for example. He’s clearly an educated man, but suffering from a common side effect of an education, hubris. Here, he basically says that because he is an amateur astronomer, he knows better than the rest of us, even the pilots, astronauts, military personnel, some of whom were only a few feet away from these alien ships. GEOFF G. tells us that only an astronomer or a weatherman is qualified to talk about UFOs because they are only weather phenomena, or meteors, or the planet Venus. Yet these military personnel and pilots who describe quite clearly metallic ships, with lights, windows, hatches that open, landing struts, unknown propulsion systems? According to GEOFF G., they just saw a shooting star! Or a puffy cloud that looked like ball lightning! It’s absurd. Lastly GEOFF G. says no astronomer has seen these ships, that is simply untrue. In fact, America’s most important astronomer, the man who discovered Pluto, Clyde Tombaugh, clearly described seeing flying discs repeatedly.
Other “top contributer” RAYMOND opines about “the occasional “abduction” in trailer parks”. Apparently he’s unaware that a woman was abducted from the tenth-floor of a manhattan high-rise, witnessed by dozens on the streets below, including a U.N. Secretary General and his two security police officers. RAYMOND must also be unaware of Travis Walton, who was abducted by a disc shaped craft in broad daylight in front of ten co-workers who ran to the police and reported just that.
Harvard University studies showed that most people who claim alien abduction experiences are no more likely to be mentally ill than the general population, nor are they lying about their experiences.
Basically , what people who try to deny the existence of flying saucers, aliens, and alien abductions are saying boils down to
1.) I know what you saw better than you know what you saw!
2.) You were there and I wasn’t? So what, I still know better!
3.) I don’t care how many millions of people have seen alien ships, photographed them, videotaped them, get burned by radiation from them, or if they get reported by newspapers and TV news, they just don’t exist because I never saw one!
People who still attempt to deny the presence of aliens is suffering from a mental illness of some kind. Perhaps it’s “extreme Xenophobia”.
Aliens are here, time to move the topic to the next questions. What can we discern of their motives from their actions? What can we do to stop them if we don’t approve of their actions and motivations?
Nobody wants this to be true, including the witnesses and especially the abductees, life is plenty hard enough as it is, and getting harder. We certainly don’t need to add “alien invasion” to the list of crap to deal with. Our society and economy are fragile on a good day. Which is probably the reason the powers-that-be have striven for decades to keep this topic out of the public eye.
Imagine the stock market on the day a president announces “Aliens are here and abducting Americans out of their homes and cars for purposes of genetic engineering, implanting tracking devices, and god knows what else. Oh, and their technology is so much more advanced than our that we can’t even slow them down, let alone stop them. Now let’s talk about health care and Afghanistan.”
Bottom line, most people just can’t cope with having their reality be replaced by a much more frightening reality that happens to be true.

You don’t offer us a look into your statistical information website, so other than your opinion, we have nothing solid to see that UFO sightings have DOUBLED since 2007.
When Obama goes on TV to tell the world the FULL DISCLOSED TRUTH about the UFO issue–and shows us these things ARE real….THEN I’ll feel we’re all leading up to……something.
I believe in the UFO issue. However, I’ve seen–in many instances–things in the night skies that CAN be mistaken for UFO activity. I believe our military has been enjoying the UFO issue as a umbrella to hide in plain sight their X-type extreme top secret aircraft experiments.
In fact, I’ve seen an late 70s video, taken in Nevada of a UFO—that later turned out to be the ultra-secret “stealth” bomber in flight, still highly classified at the time. The government, I suspect, has even more whiz-bang advanced air force toys that pale what the infamous SR-71 “Blackbird” boasted of doing; but not known to our eyes—these may be our UFOs of late.
And IF that explains things, then it’s likely a good call that the U.S. is about to increase or war efforts in Afghanistan and/or Iraq—by unleashing our nasty ultra-secret war toys on the bad guys.
That cast aside, there ARE a high number—albeit small when compared to “debunked” sightings—of “unexplained” UFO incidents that defy ALL logical reasoning; USAF Project ‘Blue Book’ had 700 such ones, out of their what…..12,000 logged UFO reports???

UK seems to be have a lot of sightings but no real proof.
